I am about to purchase a 1994 E350 16 passenger shuttle bus. I was just wondering what are some common problems I should look out for. I am planning on buying it in North Dakota and driving it back to Washington DC. DOnt know how smart thaqt is butterummmm yeah. Thats the plan lol.
There was a recall for the fuel lines chafing on the back of the intake manifold for the 460 V8. Most of the other stuff you can run into is the transmission. The C6 is almost bullet-proof, but the E4OD can be a nightmare if it has been abused. Take a look at the pan on the transmission; The C6 has a completely flat pan, the E4OD has a bulge with a flat, round spot on top of the bulge. If you have a C6, you have no worries. Quick and dirty check is to look at the shift lever; If it has a button to cancel overdrive, you have an E4OD. Make sure you have all your gears regardless of which tranny you find yourself with. Run the VIN past your local Ford dealer to see if there are any open recalls.
