If you are going to use the Amsoil to extend oil change intervals, then make sure to use oil filters with sacrificial anodes in them to neutralize the acid formed in the engine. I've seen a Fram filter like this.If you're going with regular drain intervals, then the standard filter is fine.

Wix makes a 2 quart filter that is great for your 454. Part no. 51794.
Can get them at NAPA. part no. 1794.
Wix makes the NAPA gold filters.
