Has anyone had a problem with lack of power on a Detroit Series 60 engine? I had a CAT before and it put out plenty of power. Are their any solutions for more power (torque)?

Have you considered a Detroit shop? More than likely a computer problem. The DD should have more hp & torque than any CAT u had in a motorhome application before. Not very many newer big CATS in motorhome applications
I am trying to find via the net a diagram on how to rebuild a water pump and engine brake (jake brake) for the Detroit Diesel Series 60. Can you guide me in the right direction?
Get thee to a shop with a chasis dynomometer.
For an hours time you will know if its the seat of your pants thats being fooled , or if the engine is a DOG or has problems.

Try the high-tech dimpled radiator developed by pittsburgh power in pa.look up their website at pittsburghpower.com.they have a number of items not actually listed on the site.they have the radiator core for various models.the owner is bruce mallinson
Ever thought the head could be cracked or the head gasket could be bad? You could pressure test the coolant system by installing a simple tire valve nipple into the coolant resevoir cap and pressurizing the system. If it doesn't hold pressure it is leaking from somewhere. Either externally or internally. Does the resevoir tank get air bubbles in the coolant when the engine is running? If so, its a good sign that the head is cracked or the head gasket is blown. A leak detection kit can be purchased to check for exhaust gases in the coolant for a minimal cost (around 50 to 75 dollars). This has worked fairly well for me in the past; when the exact directions are followed. Hope this helps!
Hi name is mike i work for a large towing company in new york we do a lot of heavy truck towing and repair work. take a good look at your inner cooler make shure your fins arent bent or corroded and the same on your radiator cores. beleave it or not smooth flow of air is important. also check for green or a real deep cooper color on the cores it will restrick heat transfer enough to make it overheat.and last but not least beleave it or not dust will make it overheat, in the inner cooler and the radiator fins, and in between fan clucth, and on the fan, and try a engine flush. i see this stuff on the road all day long.
