I have a Minnie Winnie '83 24ft and the running lights don't work. All others are OK. Bought it used a few weeks ago and are going on our first trip - or trying to.
Please help if you can!

Go toan auto parts store and buy a 12 volt test light, the kind with the dangling cord ending in an alligator clip. Also purchase a 25' roll of 14 0r 16 gauge primary wire. Having done this, remove about 2" of insulation from each end of the wire, connect one end to the ground or - battery post and connect the other end to the test light's alligator clip. Remove the lens from one of the running lights, remove the bulb, turn the lights on and stick the end of the test light probe down into the light socket and touch the center button, avoid letting the side of the probe contact the side of the socket. If test light does not light, then it's a power problem, (wiring or fuse). If test light lights, then it's a grounding problem, to verify this, replace bulb and touch test light probe to side of socket, if test light now lights, then it is a grounding problem between the chassis battery and the skin of the coach, or a common grounding wire for all the running lights. The test light can be used to pin-point the problem. Do the tail lights, not the brake lights, work? |
