To fix the no heat problem on a '99 Taurus is generally easy (as Willy said above).
1) Carefully pinch off (closed) the heater core bypass hose with a needle nose vise grip or similar tool.
2) Flush the cooling system. (Installing a flush tee in one of the heater core lines and and attach a garden hose)
3) Add pure coolant because the block is now full of pure water.
Also, I have noticed the A/C runs all the time when the heat is on. You can unplug the high or low pressure A/C switch (on one of the Freon lines) and the A/C compressor will not come on. Re-plug the A/C compressor in the summer. |
