Bought new trailer in 1999. went to Colorado. water heater would light and heat up but pilot wouldn't stay lit. manual said have propane servicer change orifices to high alt. no propane or RV servicer in area ever heard of such a thing. did without hot water. on return home worked fine. went to selling dealer. they installed after market conversion to elec/gas (either Hott Rod or Lightning Rod). now, even though clean element 100% after each use, it gets so limed/calcified after 1-2 nights that can't be removed through hole in main plug. have to get main plug out with improper tools (other than socket wrench) so of course the main plug got rounded off. back to dealer. they say they now no longer install these conversions and don't use brass plugs, only plastic. they put in new plastic plug and can only use gas now. what if we want to go to Colorado again? do we have to get a new water heater. feel like we've been had!
