I have an Allegro with dual fuel tanks. The electric cross over swithh has 6 connection ports for the gas lines.I suppose one goes to the engine, one to each of two fuel tanks, one to the generator. What are the other 2 fuel connections on the crossover switch for?
Does the 84 allegro have a electric fuel pump under the motorhome or is it a mechanical off the motor.how about the fuel pump for the generator. The one i am looking at to buy needs both replaced due to theft, and i am 300 miles away so i am trying to be prepared for what it will take to get it running again. Thank you

The 6 port tank switching valve has these 6 lines connected to it 1 pressurized line going to engine to supply fuel, 1 line coming from engine for fuel return, ( both injected and carburetted systems have this, it prevents "vapor lock"), 1 in-tank fuel pump outlet and 1 fuel return for each tank, nothing exclusive for the generator. It has so many ports because the return fuel has to be switched to the tank you're drawing from, otherwise you'd be transferring fuel to the idle tank, causing it to overflow.

I have a '82 Allegro RV with dual fuel tanks. It has underneath a 6 port connection swith. I seem to have a problem with the port itself for the fact that gas is getting to the port but doesn't seem to be getting to the fuel pump.Is there any way possible to completely do away this "port" and tie all the lines together, the two lines from each tank together and the return lines together? Also, I have no paperwork so could you tell me, which is the main tank and which is aux. One tank is right behind driver, the other is all the way in the back on passengers side.
