Want to tow a 1992 Jeep 4x4 cherokee Limited. Been told that must install a drive line disconnect. Owner manual says that only need to put trans. in park and transfer case in neutral. Which is correct.

James; Get Part number of data tag(round tag riveted to back case half) of tranfer box. Call Towing World at Call 1-800-566-9869 they can tell you if you need drive shaft disconnect. Seem some transfer boxs won't take towing and some will.
If you have mech. speedometer and you don't want mileage to rack up you will need a speedometer disconnect kit.

Towed a 95 for 5 years...just followed the instructions in the owner's manual...transfer case in neutral and trans in park...had 130k miles on it when I bought a 2001 jeep cherokee..plan on towing it the same way....follow the manual...
