I just had this problem on my 2000 Windstar!!
The part that has screwed up is called the "Blend door actuator motor". The main part number is 19E616. You lucked out...mine was jammed in the opposite direction! There is no fix beyond removing and replacing the motor.
The motor is mounted high towards the center of the heater box. The best way to get to it is to pull the radio out. I'd advise that you remove the old one first and bring it with you, since there are a few different listings (Especially if your VIN number begins with a "2"; Built in Canada!)
