My 1985 7KW Kohler generator started on it's own and will not shut down with any of the three shut off switches. The generator "slows" when the off switch is pushed but continues to run. In order to shut it down, I had to disconnect one of the wire plugs on the top of the control unit. When I plug it back in, the unit again trys to start. I do not have access to a schematic for this model or a source for parts. I am currently on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC and need to get this problem fixed before I start for home on Aug 3rd. I imagine that the switch shorted and is now in the on position. Anyone experience anything like this? Any suggestions for a fix? |
