We have a Duo Therm space heater (or furnace?) that runs on natural gas. It's about 3'H x 2'W x 2'D and is used inside a home. It's developed a leak around the control knob that's used to light the pilot.
The model is 1489-2. Serial # is 228. And if it matters, Type Control = A.
Does anyone know: how old this unit is? Is it possible to repair the knob or replace the entire contraption that the knob is attached to?
Or... is there a website that has all that info? I've looked all over and can't find this model.
Also... I keep seeing references to filters for Duo Therm heaters. I see no filter on this unit. Is there just not one there? Where is the filter supposed to go?
Kathy -- DuoTherm got out of the heater business around 1985 or 6 and disposed of all their parts and tooling. The manufacturer of the control valve itself might still be in business if you can get a name off of the valve plus any numbers and google them. Or try Johnstone Supply with those numbers. Very good chance you are looking at replacing the furnace, Good luck
PS the filter is an air filter - possibly not used on yours.
