My furnace fires and runs but the blower and heat don't shut off, i have to pull the wire off the blower motor wire for it to shut off even with the t stat off. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi Ken, Could be a faulty thermostat, short in the t'stat wiring or a bad Time Delay Relay. If you have an analog t'stat try taking the two wires off the back and hold them together. After the furnace fires up, separate them. If it goes thru the normal cool down and shuts off, it the t'stat. If not I'd bet on a bad relay. It's a square box on left front rounded cover of the furnace and has four wires attached to it. Good luck.
Ok, so I replaced the Time Delay Relay and still the same. Do you think it's in the t'stat wiring and if so how do I can tell. Any added suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to figure this out on my own with very limited knowledge. Thanks in advance.
