I just purchased a 77 dodge titan motor home with a 440 in it. It runs very hot around 245 i did not want to drive it anymore in fear of causing other problems. it has new radiator hoses and t stat was wondering if there could be a bad air lock? if you have any suggestions please help.
Hey, some Dodge products like the Durango ran hot and caused oil sludge that wrecked some engines. Make sure you have oil flow, too. I use a pure synthetic from AMSOIL. It runs cooler and resists sludge. Has a high heat tolerance to near 600Dg.F. Pours up to -60 Dg.F. Transfers more power to the tranny. ATF also. Helps drop heat dramatically

Use a 180 T stat. Pull the upper heater hose and fill until the coolant is at the fitting, that chould get you close. The just run till the upper rad hose gets hot, shut doawn and let cool, tp up coolant. Good Luck
I am going to yank the old stat a put a new one in just to make sure thats not it. any suggestions on gettin the air lock through the system it does not have an air bleeder on any of the hoses like some vehicles do. i am new to the motor home owning so i dont have any idea what is normal or not
