I have a 2000 honda accord I just took it yesterday to autozone because the engine light turned on,well the guy told me it was a code p0740 (same probleam as everyone) also I don't know if that code had anything to do with my car when im driving it 20mph or 30 it accelerateds by it self and it does it acouple of times in the road. so my question is what should I do? and to change the tcc how much it runs for? what do I need to do I love my little car! please help

It could be related in that you have a wiring issue that is causing that code to be set.

P0740 = Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfuction

So at the heart of this, it's an electrical failure or registering as an electrical failure. Basically, the EFI computer has sent the signal to lock the torque converter and has not received confirmation that this has happened. If this wiring is in a section of harness that has been damaged, it could explain why your throttle is surging.

TCC is a system, not a thing. It's a circuit consisting of a solenoid in the valvebody of the transmission, the torque converter and the wiring that connects it to the rest of the EFI system. It isn't one part that can be changed.

The first step is to check the wiring harness around the transmission and attached to the transmission and see if it's been damaged or hacked into.

Hope that helps!
