Puzzled. RV 4kw gas generator with new air filter, spark plug, & oil, will only run for between 10 and 90 minutes before shutting down. Gas tank on RV is full. Won't restart until it cools down. Anyone have any ideas?
If you have a (Onan) and are using multi-viscosity oil---it might be foaming and shutting off---the low oil switch will do that-read the book---use a proper straight 30 wt oil--approved for your Generator engine.

Thanks. I had staight 30 wt oil from Onan specifically for the generator. I changed it to 15-40 wt as recommended in the owners manual. Same condition. Any other ideas?
