Hello I'm retired military looking to do a bus conversion to use as a live aboard which diesel engine and transmission package is most desirable in an older 70's or 80's MCI or Prevost bus? How do I evaluate the air bags to see if they are good? I've been told that all have minor leakage is this true?

As for the engine there is many variable, what will be the mileage? what speed do you like to drive? where? montain, flat land. In those years, the dominating engine in those bus were detroit engine 8V 71, 92 serie. Some had them comverted to the serie 60 or 50.
