Re: Tire Life by William
Post New Message Dan -- As long as you don't get the tires hot, they would be OK. The heat is what causes old tires to come apart as they have lost their physical integrity due to the aging of the compounds, and the effect of the environment - UV, Ozone ect. My wife drives a 9 year ol Accord with 12,000 miles on it but just around town and it is always garaged - I don't plan to replace those tires just because they are over 6 yrs old. ---BUT, I would think that it would be next to impossible to actually use your coach withut getting the tires hot.
Bite the bullet and replace the tires. A highway speed blow out on a front tire could spell disaster.
PS - thats a great class C - we had one for several years in the 80s.
Enjoy, William
