Your battery is not good unless it has 12.5 or more volts 12.1 is flat stone cold dead, if goes lower than this you are hurting the battery, Battery is fully charged @ 13.2 volts. Most converters will produce 13.8 to 14.2 volts to charge. And finally there were change over relays in some of these old converters to change over to battery operation. They go bad and the unit won't change to battery operation. Finally you need to check the battery conections, including the one to ground off the frame, There is probably a breaker or fuse between your battery and the converter that may be bad Good Luck |
