Hi Bill, Sounds like a bad motor bearing. They are a brass bushing and requires motor replacement. Trying to force feed oil in between the shaft and bearing may help temporarily emphasis on temporarily. Good luck! Also I cannot find a model 776EG2 Norcold fridge listing.

before you try to force anything, tap on the blower motor, as it may of not be fully aligned and the rotating fan is rubbing... I had a bad squeeling and tap the motor and moved it a bit and the squeeling stopped.
