I bought a gen for my work truck that someone had tried to repair. They took the points and coil off and the wires are all mixed up now. I have replacement parts but i have no exp with this two cyl horiz opp cyl motor. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could explain where the wires from the flywheel,points,coil pos and neg are connected. I am not sure and I dont want to damage anything by guessing. I'm not sure how the fireing is achieved from cyl to cyl with this type of coil. Thank You Gary.
The minus on the coil goes to the points. The plus gets power from the "hot" side. The coil fires both plugs, although when one is on the compression stroke, the other plug is "dry firing".
