Suburban Furnace blows cold air Ken 3-11-09
I have a Suburban furnace in a 1979 class C. It has run great until the other day. I can see that it will spark when turned on, but does not ignite. The fan blows ok. I have plenty of propane, but burner does not ignite. Any idea why it would stop heating or what should look for? Does not look to be any easy job getting at anything.
Thanks

Hi Ken, It's hard to troubleshoot over the internet... you're probably going to have to pull the furnace to check it out, most Suburbans are like that. But first make sure you have a strong battery and 11 volts min. to the furnace. If you have low voltage the motor won't run fast enough to engage the sail switch that tells the gas valve to open. Also make sure all the air is out of the LP line if you just changed the bottles. Also could be low LP pressure or a bad LP regulator. If you pull the furnace it's probably best to take it to an RV shop and let them check it out. Good luck!

We hve a '05 Everest w/Suburban furnace. Every time we have to refill a propane tank or both (7 Gal. each) we have trouble getting the furnace to start again. We bleed the lines, stove works fine, we have new batteries besides being hooked up. Reg.valve shows green with propane in tanks, both tank valves are open.
What might be causing this problem?
Thanks,
CC Andrews
