First I want to thank all of those who came before me to solve this problem. I think I have mine licked; but thought I would share for the benefit of others... this will be long.... I had my heater core replaced less than 6 months ago $900 (mostly labor)
1. No heat; air conditioning only.
2. checked radiator fluid.. seemed ok.
3. Flushed radiator fluid- no heat.
4. Backflushed heater core- no heat.
5. Reflushed radiator - no heat.
6. Pulled out glove box & ashtray. Actuator vibrates but does not turn arm. Ordered actuator from dealer-$87
7. Installed brand spanking new actuator- motor works- no heat/still air conditioning
8. Checked heater hoses. Felt not warm near firewall. Reflushed/Backflushed heater core. No heat
9. Replaced thermostat- no heat
10. Went back to actuator area- looked at hole where actuator peg goes... seems fine. Pushed on lever the motor moves. Heat. but only warm. Warmer at higher rpms. This is at least new and not air conditioning.
11. Came back to forums and this appears to be my water pump. Will order new pump tomorrow and hopefully be done and warm again. At least it is not that silly blend door!
Thanks again! |
