It might be a vapor lock-
I would remove the spark plug stand back and hit the starter (no choke or throttle needed). then- put the spark plug in give it a whirl. If it starts, it might have had fuel seep in the cylinder and cause a vapor lock.
Do not keep trying to start it if it will not turn over, you could burn out the starter's brushes.
Or, your solenoid on the starter could be gone. Also, check to make sure the electrical connections to the battery and the top of the starter are good, tight and corrosion free.
If this is it, try turning off the gas valve to it (if so equipped).
