Refridgerator problems jerry guinn 7-7-08
I have a dometic rm2807 fridge and keep having problems'i think. i'm not sure how this unit is supposed to work.when i first turn it on,it reads check.i don't know what i'm supposed to check. i can turn the gas bottles off and it will cool fine, but if i leave them on it goes over to gas and it won't cool.i don't think the burner is lighting on the unit. i also don't know if it operates on the 12v system.i guess what i really need is a operation manual for it but don't know where to get one. any help would greatly appreciated.

Hi Jerry, If it's cooling ok on electric (120V) and won't work on LP you probably have a bad circuit board. A common Dometic problem. A Dinosaur P-711 is a good replacement over a Dometic board. It's hard to troubleshoot over the internet.. make sure the burner isn't filled with rust dust from the chimmney. That you are getting LP thru the gas valve, check the fuses on the board, and that you have 12V to the board, if all is well there, I'd bet on the circuit board. Here's a link for a service manual, go to the lower left corner and click on RM2607 - 2811 http://www.gasrefrigeration.net/dometic_manuals. Good luck!

Hi Randy, Sorry to say... but this is a pretty good indication of a bad cooling unit. If you see anything powdery and yellow, like just above the burner or anywhere, or smell ammonia, it's definitely bad. Or it has a blockage. You can try direct wiring the elec heating element. This bypasses all controls and if you have the same results, replace the cooling unit. Good luck!

Have a dometic fridge that freezes finebut the fridge just don't get real cold ? I know it is on the dometic recall but don't think that is the problem
Re: refridgerator problems brian eichhorn 7-29-08
My dometic refrigerator is not cooling enough the temp in the refridge is 40 degree and get down to 0 degree in the freezer. I have checked the thermistor with a ohm meter when cold and get about 89000 that shows ok but get just a little colder when the setting is maxed out my coach company had a rally and they checked and said the coils were not hot to cool all the way up thinking a cooling unit problem what do you think or is there more I can check
