I have a 99 Winnebago and everytime we run the furnace, we can smell a slight hint of lp gas. It is not enough to set off the lp gas detector but am still worried about it. Furnace seems to run great and have smelled exaust port with nothing detected there. Not sure how this could be entering the RV.
Look at the gas line as it enters the furnace. Take some water and put some dish soap in a cup and mix it 1 part soap to about 20 water will work. Turn the gas on at the bottle only opened a little (no need to run the furnace now).
Take a brush and brush on the joint as the gas line goes in to the furnace and look for bubbles that are generated. If it does, there is your leak. If not if it were me, I would bring it to be serviced. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU ARE NOT HANDY AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING THOUGH. Get it serviced by a pro if you are not sure of what you are doing.
If it is leaking tighten the line slightly. If it still is leaking, take off the line, add some teflon tape to the threads and re-install.
If you reinstall repeat the test and see if it is still leaking there.
