From the hundreds of blogs I've read, my problem seems common but have not really found an answer. My Onan GenSet 5000 Emerald Plus generator was working fine until last week then died. Took it an Onan dealer who said the starter solenoid, starter and start circuit board need to be replaced. I did all of that and it still does not work properly. It will start but will not stay running. It will continue to run as long as I hold the start button down. Don't want to burn out the new starter so I didn't try too many times. The fuel pump and coil are only "hot" when the start button is pushed. Any suggestions besides "buy another generator?" Thanks. |
